Sir Safranloix De Courdelion

Alchemist | Duelist | Noble son of Ishgard

At a glance

One of Halone's children driven far from Her firmament.

Ousted from Ishgard by the cruel machinations of family, the Courdelion's second son fills his days with feverish pursuit of advancement in his alchemical field while wasting his evenings on fulfilling epicurean and vain desires.

Safranloix has made a place for himself in the desert oasis of Ul'Dah by working with the Alchemist's Guild and independently as a physician. Though he recently took a three moon sabbatical from the city for surreptitious reasons and has only just returned.

Traits

Personality

Studious - Obsessive - Vain - Sentimental - Melodramatic - Hedonistic

Appearance

Safranloix's new, sunny home has blessed him with a healthier complexion than most Ishgardians, but he remains significantly paler than most Ul'Dah natives. His physique is the result of his vanity, with a body built like marble statuary, trimmed of any excess fat and bereft of aesthetically unpleasant scars or markings.

Bereft of Ishgardian modesty, Safranloix wears tailored garments that display his vanity first, and his wealth second. His silken shirts invariably part to bare as much chest as possible. Sleeves end early to show off toned arms and long fingers decorated in glittering gemstones and precious metals.

Beneath his meticulously tousled mane of golden locks sits a pair of piercing, sky blue eyes that ever peer with owlish intent or dramatic disinterest. Despite all his preening self-care, Safranloix is not entirely without blemish as his haphazard sleep schedule leaves swarthy and unsightly rims around his eyes that no amount of foundation can obfuscate.

Hooks

  • Need a doctor? Safranloix is on the hunt for new patients. He has potions to cure any ailment - and more exciting tinctures to cure boredom most of all.

  • Ishgardians might recognize the little Lionheart, especially former or current Temple Knights who spent time cared for by the hospitaliers.

  • Anyone enjoying the bar and restaurant scene in Ul'Dah could bump elbows with Safranloix. When work ends, he invariably makes haste to some manner of fine eatery or cantina to wile away his evening.

  • That rich boy carries an awfully fancy sword, but a pampered fop like him surely doesn't know how to use it. Why not ask him about it, or try your luck in a fight?

Rumors

  • "There's been a new physician on Sapphire Street. Not one of the quacks or salamander oil peddlers either! A bit stiff and unpleasant, but all those Ishgardians are like that. His remedies are wondrous!"

  • "Ser Ricardmont De Courdelion was one of the finest Temple Knights I've ever seen. Brave, bold, honorable, it was a tragedy he was taken from us so near the war's end. One only hopes his brothers can uphold such a virtuous family legacy."

  • "It's a shame what happened to Ser Ambroise. Took his own life, I hear - couldn't suffer the shame of losing a duel for his beloved's virtue - nor the shock of her infidelity. Absolutely tragic. I'd hope the cur responsible never shows his foul face in Ishgard again."

OOC

I roleplay primarily on the Mateus server though I don't mind visiting anywhere in Crystal and due to my actual age, I prefer all of my partners to be 18+

After roleplaying for many years, I've hit a point that I pretty much know exactly what I want out of roleplay. I like writing interesting narratives and weaving storylines with like-minded writers.

Dark, mature, and tragic themes are endlessly fascinating to me and forever my first choices to work with when it comes roleplaying but that inevitably comes with the caveat that communication is paramount for such high stakes storylines. Betrayal, heartbreak, and grief are great in character, but I'm a firm believer in treating each other with respect and maturity out of character, no matter what. I don't want to hash out every little story detail ahead of time, but anything that permanently alters my character, physically or mentally should be communicated ahead of time and furthermore, I'd extend the same courtesy.

I'm also not opposed to more lighthearted, or comical scenes though they likely won't hold my interest for extended periods of time.

I also believe in a stark separation between IC and OOC. I am not my character. Safranloix is a rich kid soaked in wine and vanity. I'm not. I don't hold the same views as my character, nor the same interests. While he may be an insatiable lush, I can assure you, I am not looking for any out of character romance.

If I haven't scared you off yet, and you have any interest in this Ishgardian disaster, please, send me a tell in game! I'm an east coaster and tend to be online and available most evenings after 6:30 EST.
